Lila's 15 Months!

Been a little MIA lately. Hectic past week. There are some weeks where we stay home and  we are sooooo bored. Then there are weeks like last week and this week where I have too much to do. When it rains, it pours.

I will start with last night because it was so exciting! Dave and I went on a date!! We haven't been out alone in awhile! He told me that he got an email from the stubs program at the movie theater and received two free tickets to see Age of Adeline. I was soooo excited because I wanted to see it! I did not know this until we went in, but the movie does not even show for another 2-3 weeks. There was security in the theater making sure people were not recording it... So we went in, printed the tickets and the lady said to come back in 30 min and they will start seating. Well 30 min later we went in and the two last seats were the very front row. Ouch, my neck. I knew it was going to be crowded because it was free, but I thought they were going to START seating in 30 min. GRRRR. Anyway, the movie was really good. A little cheesy during the beginning and end, but overall good movie. Dave even liked it. Shout out to the in laws for watching Lila!

Now working my way backwards..My best friend, Chandler, came home from college for the weekend with her friends to go to the horse race! I have gone a couple times before, but its been since high school. Lila has never been and she loves horses, so I was excited to bring her along! There's good food, drinking, horses and fun times!
Aunt Chan (Lila's Godmama)

These are Lila's 3rd grandparents: Aunt Kimmie and G Bob (Chans parents). They are awesome! Lila is about to snag his drink.

Thank God she is sleeping. She was a little antsy the entire time.

 My Bestie!

The next day we took Lila to the park before heading up to my moms house. It was really nice outside and we were happy that Dave was able to hang out with us for the day. He has been working like crazy recently and we have not seen him a whole lot. Can't wait until summer begins and he will have normal job hours.

You see the kid with the floppy hat sitting on the ground playing with mulch? Yup, thats mine. Lila, we can play with dirt at home..why did we come here?

Farmer Lila realized that they had a sandbox!

I love this picture so much. They had no idea that they were both making the same face. Can you tell they are related?
Oh, and this is from my moms house. Lila! Wait until I get you a tissue!! ;)
(that's the pond fountain)

Now for the last part. Lila is now 15 months! Each month was exciting before she turned one, but now its every 3 months! I was not planning on taking photos of Lila but then realized it was so nice out and I wanted some good photos of her walking around. Obviously we cannot afford to have all of Lila's photos done professionally, so I take them all. I love doing them anyway. I know my kid better than any photographer so I feel like she is more comfortable. This was literally a three minute thought process. I thought about the dress, and obviously her new boots. I looked outside and saw yellow flowers and it all clicked! I quickly grabbed her rocking horse (that I LOOOVEEEE! Her godfather got it for her for Christmas. Big roses all over it. We call her Rosie)

I realized while taking the photos that Lila was not her smiley self. Honestly, sometimes I like that. Yes, I love her smile, but I love when she is concentrated and serious. There is this one photo from my 3rd birthday that I love. When I saw this photo of Lila, I thought of mine! Shes looking down, but I love that you can see her face without all of the goofy smiling. Sorry my photos is blurry. SOOO old ;)

I know that this post has a lot of photos, but there were lots of events and I had my camera out all week. Sorry! I am making a bunch of different dinners and will hopefully post the recipes soon!

Tootles.

Easter Weekend (From our Messy Bunny to Yours)

Well..Our second Easter as a family has come and gone. I have to say that this Easter was a lot more exciting than the last. Lila actually walked around four different egg hunts and loved it! Last year she was still so little and basically slept the whole time. So much has changed (besides Dave's wardrobe.. haha).

Before you go any further...WARNING-lots of photos.

We just realized that Dave wore the same thing both years. Woops!

So this weekend was extremely busy for us. We went to church Friday night, my in-laws country club for brunch with the Easter bunny, went to dinner with my "second family", had church  with the in-laws and then made our way to PA for my mom's Easter dinner.

Brunch with the Easter bunny was a lot of fun! Both David's grandparents and parents belong to Sparrows Point Country club, so we all got to enjoy the Easter experience with Lila. She was not too thrilled to see the Easter bunny, but whats new? However, she loved the Easter egg hunt even though it was soooooo windy! I am shocked she was able to walk.

 Great Grandparents!!

Oma (Dave's mom) and Lila!

Now...For the ride home that I will never forget. There were many crafts that we could make while at this brunch, one being grow you own baby carrots. We planted the seeds in a pot and went on our way home. I put Lila in her carseat and Dave packed up the car. He put the pot of dirt and seeds near Lila thinking "..she probably can't reach that..". Never underestimate a child Lila. We were a good 10 min on the road when we both started wondering what Lila was playing with. She was loud and I did not remember giving her a toy. I remember Dave saying "oh shit, the basket". I looked back and immediately turned back around in my seat. "Dave pull over. Its everywhere". We started laughing so hard because it was just unbelievable! I think I was laughing because there was nothing I could do to fix Lila's new white Easter dress that had not made it to Easter yet..We pulled over and before doing anything, Dave snapped a photo. She was just so happy. She even smiled for the photo..

I thanked God A LOT right after this photo because I was able to brush all of the dirt off. As for the carrot seeds..We will know in a couple weeks if they have sprouted in Lila's belly.

Finally Easter! We woke up, gave Lila her Easter basket, let her go on our mini egg hunt, and went off to church (breakfast/egg hunt/service). From there we went to my moms, ate lots of yummy food and relaxed all night! It is my absolute favorite holiday dinner. Good job, Mom! It was definitely a busy/enjoyable Easter.

Spoiled with sweets!

Mimi and Pops!

I hope everyone had an amazing Easter. Can't wait for next year!

My Life in a Picture

I took Lila out to do some errands today and ended up meeting my mother in law for lunch at panera. I thought I would share this photo, hoping some people can relate..

Assume that the table is my life..Lila takes up most of the table. The poor salad plate is my head. After Lila came through, there is not much left in there. I can't focus or speak half of the time (ask my husband). Oh and the bread.. That's probably one of my limbs that Lila has tried pulling off of me.

I hope your day was swell :)

I'm Guilty..

Have any of you put your child to bed almost 2 hours early because YOU are exhausted? I am so guilty of that tonight.. My child is turning into two HUGE handfuls, and I only have two tiny hands. She is always one step ahead of me!! If I do not have a bikini body by summer I will be shocked! I am going to come out with a workout plan for all women..You ready? Here it is: Have a Baby and wait 15 Months. TADA! I do love her to death, but its just a lot of work!

I decided to make homemade marinara meat sauce, and thank God there is a cabinet of bowls right behind where I stand. It kept her busy the entire time. I even taught her how to stir the spoon and then (pretend) taste. It was so funny! She ended up stirring every time and then handing the spoon to me to taste.

Today we went on a walk down to see the horses! I was so excited when I saw that they were all out, and extremely close to the fence. I was even able to pet one! I totally forgot to take photos because a man had pulled over to see the horse and we talked for a while. Maybe tomorrow we will try again. They are so beautiful!!!!

Before we went for our walk I snapped a few photos of Lila because it was SO nice outside.

I will probably write more after this weekend because it's Easter!!!! And the Easter bunny has a lot to do before Easter! ;)

"That" Parent..

I have survived! My wisdom tooth is out and I only needed about a half of a day to recuperate. Yeah, it still hurts, but Lila does not give me much time to think about that! She is MORE than a handful recently. With walking, "talking", and pointing, my days as a sane person are long gone.

We have had quite a busy weekend..Visiting Oma and Poppy, watching the ending to David's rock climbing competition (he won 1st!!), visiting the Easter bunny, and lastly visiting Mimi and Pops.

Dave's climbing competition. Woo! I'm not a huge fan of rock climbing, but he is pretty darn good and im glad we could see him win!!

So most people think it when children/babies are screaming in public...SHUT THAT KID UP!! However, when you become a parent, I think we all understand. Yeah, kids will start screaming and they do not care who hears it! When I hear screaming, I think to myself, at least its not mine! I usually walk by with my "perfect" (at the moment) little child, and thank God that I am not "that" parent.

Well, ladies and gents,  I was "that" parent today. Knock on wood, we usually never have issues in public with Lila. She loves being out and is pretty cooperative. Well today we took her to see the Easter bunny! Right when we brought her over to put her on his lap, she clung to David and SCREAMED. Dave could not get her off of him. I finally took her and tried sitting on Mr. Bunny's lap. She was not having it!!!!! Of course the line was starting to grow and grow. So embarrassing! Finally we all sat down, though she was still very upset, and I moved her hand out of her mouth..this is the shot they got. I was shocked. That little faker! She is never going to know what she put us through looking at this picture one day!!!! Thankfully I have this blog :)

Here is a photo from today baking Easter cookies with Mimi.. Lila probably had about 5. Don't worry. I made it up for it at home making a nice smoothie with about 500 fruits and veggies.

I would write more but I have a candle burning, a book that is calling my name, and a nice full night sleep awaiting me.

Don't let the bed bugs bite.
